Looks like some lovely bits of glass, but isn’t this effect what you get from cheap crap lenses? Some sort of aberration? Haven’t been into it for years now but reminds me of cheap lenses, maybe apart from the decent bit in the middle of the image.

Looks like a 70-200/2.8. Thanks for sharing about the clamps adapter, though. Haven't seen that in older projector lens adaptations.

If you were to do this kind of thing again, maybe try a pipe cutter for a more straight/smooth cut. It might help it fit tighter or straighter.
