There is a way easier way of doing this.. with a microwave. I was thinking the whole video on how you never tried doing microwave mugcakes. Those end being pretty much uniform, and they shrink a little during cooking so they have less surface contact

so..... for the last pan, why not just make a two part system with latches on the outside to connect the two to maintain pressure? that way all you'd need is spikes on one plate, potentially with a heatsink on the bottom, and holes in your pan. you wouldn't need to worry about the latches being too…
