I get this is an introduction but you failed to actually say whats different between the two other than hdmi gets royalties, literally why would any pc builder need to know that over say... The transfer limits of the connection's

That convoluted.
Simple if you can and dont want trouble go Display Port , amd hates hdmi to this days.
