Its also Psychological. I've found that people are more willing to add to a fuller tip jar than an empty one. There's a weird stigma that an empty one evokes a negative judgement on the business. I negate that nonsense by getting change for a 20 and loosely adding 1's and 5's so it appears fuller: …
